Ruud began his tenure as Manchester United’s interim manager on a high, with his team cruising past Leicester to secure a spot in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

The view from the terraces

We caught up with Liam after the match who gave us a good insight into the mood from the iconic Old Trafford terraces.

Ultimately, this was a very successful night for us. The types of chances that we were missing against West Ham and Fenerbache were being put away against Leicester. You'd say that this wasn't the players upping the game for the manager but perhaps playing with more freedom after a difficult few weeks.

Once again, the EFL Cup looks to have opened up slightly for us. Whilst Spurs and Liverpool remain, it definitely appears to be a winnable competition that would start the new era on a high.

In the wider context of things, who knows what will happen next? It was just nice to live the ground with a smile on my face. Roll on the weekend.

"Follow, follow, follow, United are going Bilbao..." Ok, maybe too early to get carried away but that was a much needed win at Old Trafford. Author - Liam C Amad Diallo’s second-half double gave Ruud's reds the win they needed over Greek champions PAOK to kick-start our Europa League campaign and give incoming boss Ruben Amorim a shot at sealing a coveted top-eight finish.  Amad was by far our biggest goal threat. He broke the deadlock when he sent a looping header into the far corner five minutes after the interval. The Ivorian sealed the win when he curled home from the edge of the area 13 minutes from time. Tarik Tissoudall wasted PAOK’s best opportunity when he failed to convert from eight yards with only Andre Onana to beat. Porto 3 - 3 MUFC Harry Maguire salvaged a dramatic draw for a 10-man Manchester United side, who had thrown away a two-goal lead and seen Bruno Fernandes sent off in their Europa League clash against Porto. Author - Liam C Maguire's injury-time header could be a lifeline for under-pressure manager Erik ten Hag, with the team just seconds from suffering their fourth defeat in ten games at the start of the season. In the first of five added minutes, Maguire leapt to meet Christian Eriksen's corner and expertly nodded the ball into the bottom corner, securing a crucial point. Jonny Evans superb as United battle for a draw at Villa Villa 0 - 0 MUFC Erik ten Hag will be hoping that the hard-fought draw at Aston Villa eases some of the intense pressure surrounding his role.
